What we do

Our work is channeled into six thematic areas (or topics), each a key-element of what we believe constitutes a model-region for sustainable development. Thus, by focusing on these six main topics, we are able to build a clear pathway towards our vision for Moldova.

Each thematic area is vast, allowing for diverse directions of intervention on many specific issues. The topics we chose are fluid and interconnected in our work, as they also are in a healthy society. As such, many of our activities are featured under multiple topics.

Even though some thematic areas feature more projects than others, it’s not an indication of any hierarchy between them. We consider all six areas equally worthy of attention, integral pieces of the green puzzle we are trying to build together.

Climate

Climate change is very real and happening faster than anyone predicted. Putting a stop to it will require action by everyone - rethinking how we consume and produce our precious resources, in order to achieve a safer, more climate-friendly world

Waste

A sustainable Moldova cannot become reality unless waste management becomes a priority - both for authorities and for each of us as individuals. Making responsible choices about what we buy, how we use it, and how we dispose of it can make a big difference in our future

Agrifood

Half of the world’s habitable land is used for agriculture, and food production accounts for one-quarter of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions. Agriculture is a significant source of damage to our climate, but it’s also one of the most powerful tools we have available to mitigate climate change while adapting to it

COMMUNITIES

A sustainable society is one where communities can use their own social structures and resources to address their own problems and achieve their own objectives. Our community work focuses on participation and fosters empowerment and change through collective action

Education

In order to be effective, education should be participatory, inclusive and build resilience, preparing us for an ever-changing world. We believe in education that helps us learn to use reflections on our everyday experiences to analyze the context in which we live, revealing our potential to become agents of change

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Social entrepreneurship is the most sustainable way to contribute to the social-economic development of our region, through self-employment and job creation, by developing products and services with a positive impact, or by orienting profits towards social needs
